Higuchi VG10 Damascus 3-Piece Knife Set – Walnut Handle
A beautifully matched three-piece Japanese knife set from Higuchi, combining three useful specialist knives: a 150mm Petty, 180mm Nakiri and 240mm Bread Knife.
All three feature a VG10 stainless steel core, Damascus cladding, Tsuchime hammered finish and traditional Japanese-style walnut handles, creating a consistent set with both strong performance and distinctive Japanese character.
VG10 Damascus Blades
The knives are built around a VG10 stainless steel cutting core, valued for its ability to take a fine edge while providing good edge retention and corrosion resistance.
The Damascus cladding creates the characteristic flowing layered pattern, complemented by a Tsuchime hammered finish across the upper section of the blades.
Three Knives – Three Different Jobs
Petty – 150mm
A compact utility knife for precision work, trimming, peeling, portioning, fruit, vegetables and smaller ingredients.
Nakiri – 180mm
A traditional Japanese vegetable knife with a tall blade and relatively flat cutting profile. Excellent for chopping, push-cutting and preparing vegetables and herbs.
Bread Knife – 240mm
A long serrated blade designed to slice through crusty bread and delicate interiors without excessive pressure. Also useful for cakes, pastries and other baked goods.
Walnut Handles
Each knife is fitted with an elegant walnut wood Japanese-style handle, providing a comfortable grip and a warm natural appearance that contrasts beautifully with the polished Damascus blades.
As walnut is a natural material, variations in colour and grain make each handle slightly unique.

This isn't a set padded out with knives that perform almost the same job. The Petty, Nakiri and Bread Knife each have a clearly different purpose, making it a practical combination for someone building or expanding a Japanese knife collection.
